Weekly Wrap Up #weekinreading
Hello readers! I hope you all are well and had great week. My week in terms of reading was not bad but I couldn’t blog much or have done blog hopping because of sudden plans. My husband went for weekend ‘only guys’ trip with his relatives that meant me alone with my daughter and also a get together with family, both making it hard for me to have any extra time for blog. Moreover, the book I picked last week was extremely slow. It took me four days to finish it. It wasn’t satisfying week.
Last Week I Read
My Sweet Girl by Amanda Jayatissa
This was well written thriller with unlikable and complicated characters. Plot, twist and turns were interesting and I enjoyed past chapters set in Shri Lanka. Check out full review HERE.
Ever Rest by Roz Morris
This was beautifully written touching story about band and its members whose life changed when lead singer died in mountaineering accident and their struggle even after two decades. This was different from anything I have read so far. There were so many layers in this story and all characters were complicated and flawed. Only likable and developed character was Hugo. My only issue with the book was slow pace. It was too slow for my taste.
Next I’ll be Reading
The Wolf’s Curse by Jessica Vitalis
Twelve-year-old Gauge’s life has been cursed since the day he witnessed a Great White Wolf steal his grandpapá’s soul, preventing it from reaching the Sea-in-the-Sky and sailing into eternity. When the superstitious residents of Bouge-by-the-Sea accuse the boy of crying wolf, he joins forces with another orphan to prove his innocence. They navigate their shared grief in a journey that ultimately reveals life-changing truths about the wolf––and death. Narrated in a voice reminiscent of The Book Thief and Lemony Snicket, this fast-paced adventure is perfect for fans of literary fiction fantasy such as A Wish in the Dark and The Girl Who Drank the Moon.
I was hoping to start it in weekends but well things didn’t go as I planned so I’ll start this later today once I catch up with posts I missed. I’m really excited for this one.
Thank you for reading! Let’s chat…
Have you read any of these books or added to TBR? What are you planning to read this week?

Hope your next read is more fast-paced! It looks really interesting. To be honest after SoC all my reads seem too slow and lacking in action 🙂

Can’t agree more! There should be more books like SoC. Thanks, Toni!

All my friends are busy with their own family. And my kid now understands I’m not around. She doesn’t even stay a night at my parents’ home without me.

I always hated it when my girls were little and my husband had to go out of town for a few days or even just overnight. Not having someone to take over so I could get a moment to myself was very trying. Hope this week is better! You do have some great books on tap. ❤️

I thought I could manage it but then it was so difficult and it made me frustrated that he can enjoy his time with friends and drinking while I can’t even do something as relaxing as reading a book. I so need books that makes me happy this week so it’s perfect time for go to genre.
