I’m happy with my week #WeeklyWrapUp

Hello readers! I hope you all are well and had a lovely week. It’s been relaxing week for me. I like it when there are uneventful week, there is of course family time and get together with relatives but in overall, it all has been cozy compared to last few weeks when my daughter had cold and cough and change in routine of her school making her cranky and that in way was short circuiting our brain. I’m glad it’s over now and I hope it won’t relapse back to it. I also managed to read what I planned. Both books I finished were really good. I’m happy with my week.

Last Week I read

The No-Show by Beth O’Leary

This was turned out much better. It had a slow start and I didn’t like where things were going but second half was amazing and I was surprised by the revelation in climax. I could see why romance readers love this author and now I can’t wait to read other books by author. You can read full review HERE.

The Mad Girls of New York (Nellie Bly #1) by Maya Rodale

This was amazing. I didn’t know this is based on real historical figure of New York’s gilded age until I read author’s note. In fact, author kept most of the story of real Nellie Bly the same by changing only few things. Author also included many other famous females of Gilded age, some figures that came before and after Nellie’s time. I loved everything about this book from premises to characters to theme and layers of the story. It was heartfelt, inspiring and thought-provoking read. I can’t wait to read other adventures of Nellie Bly in next books. Sadly, I have to wait for their release.

Seatmate (Love Lines #3) by Cara Bastone

Ride along on this endearing road-trip rom-com from Audie Award nominee Cara Bastone – scripted exclusively for audio!

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

My nerves almost get the best of me, but then there he is, sitting down in the seat next to me. Tall. Friendly smile. Bright indigo streak in his brown hair. The perfect distraction. Turns out he’s on his way to reconnect with an old flame. The one who got away. We can both make it on time – just barely – if the traffic keeps flowing.

Playing road-trip games, avoiding calls from his mother, and effortless conversation keeps us from clockwatching…until the bus breaks down. And my seatmate turns into my copilot as we wrangle a ride in a car three decades old. And hit all the traffic. And oh, Lord, the detours. And somehow I end up careening cross-town on the handlebars of a Citi Bike carrying a box of kittens. (Yeah, don’t ask.)

He’s my hero every step of the way…and I might be falling for him. But what happens when we reach our final destination? Could my seatmate really be my soul mate?

I know I said I don’t like audiobooks and I also didn’t like listening in the beginning of this but as story progressed and I actually sat down putting my mind to this I actually enjoyed this. I love full cast of narrators here and there is amazing sounds at all appropriate places like chatters in bus, honking, breaks, car passing, snort, laugh, sigh, gasp. I have to say it’s the kind of audiobook that might make you fall in love with audiobooks. There are only 6 chapters remaining so I’m definitely finishing this today.

Next this Week

Set on You by Amy Lea

A gym nemesis pushes a fitness influencer to the max in Amy Lea’s steamy debut romantic comedy.

Curvy fitness influencer Crystal Chen built her career shattering gym stereotypes and mostly ignoring the trolls. After her recent breakup, she has little stamina left for men, instead finding solace in the gym – her place of power and positivity.

Enter firefighter Scott Ritchie, the smug new gym patron who routinely steals her favorite squat rack. Sparks fly as these ultra-competitive foes battle for gym domination. But after a series of escalating jabs, the last thing they expect is to run into each other at their grandparents’ engagement party.

In the lead up to their grandparents’ wedding, Crystal discovers there’s a soft heart under Scott’s muscled exterior. Bonding over family, fitness, and cheesy pick-up lines, she just might have found her swolemate. But when a photo of them goes viral, savage internet trolls put their budding relationship to the ultimate test of strength.

I’m super excited to start this. I hope it turns out just as good as all who has read this are saying.

Thank you for reading! Let’s chat..,
