Weekly Wrap-up : (29/03/’21) #WeekinReading #currentlyreading #bookstoread

Hello Readers! I hope you all had fantastic week. My week in terms of reading was satisfying. I’m back on track. As for life, things are not that bad. I started watching booktubes again and I have to say they inspire me and gave some new ideas. I might publish a post I was working on this week.

My Posts Last Week-

Review of The Unwanted by Z. T. Soyoye

Monthly Wrap-up

Last Week I Read-

Crow (Faeries of Oz #2) by Candace Robinson, Amber R. Duell

Crow was fantastic sequel, story of Crow and Reva who was cursed to be the Wicked Witch of the West. It was filled with adventure and magic. More world world was explored and I enjoyed vivid descriptions of setting and legends. My review will be up tomorrow.

Uncork My Love by Rich Amooi

This was hilarious romcom with loveliest characters and clean romance. Some one said in reviews Rich Amooi is king of banter and I can’t agree more. I enjoyed every page of this book and now I want to read all books by author. My review will be up on 9th.

Currently Reading-

Unwritten(The Zweeshen Chronicles #1) by Alicia J. Novo

Books whisper to Beatrix Alba. But they aren’t the reason she has never fit in. Bullied at home and school, she keeps a secret—a power of violence and darkness.

When the spell that keeps her hidden fails, she’s catapulted into the Zweeshen, a realm where all tales live, and her dream of meeting her favorite characters comes true. But wishes are tricky, and behind its wonder and whimsy, the Zweeshen is under attack. A character is burning bookworlds in pursuit of a weapon to rule both stories and storytellers. To succeed, he needs a riddle in Beatrix’s keeping.

Now he’s hunting her down.

Joining forces with William, a cursed conjurer, Beatrix must face an enemy who knows her every weakness in a realm where witches play with time, Egyptian gods roam, and Regency heroines lead covert operations. And with her darkness as the only weapon, she may have to sacrifice everything to save a world that rejects her.

Praise for UNWRITTEN

“Fascinating and magic-filled, the fantasy novel Unwritten promises adventure right up to its final page.” — Foreword Reviews.

“Novo’s well-crafted story will delight and engage readers … A satisfying and socially relevant story about acceptance and sacrifice.” — Kirkus Reviews.

“Wholly original and wondrously imaginative…” — Reader’s Favorite Reviews (5 Stars)

I started reading this morning. I’m just 4 chapters into the book and I don’t I exactly understand what’s going on with Beatrice’s magic and how it works but I hope it is explained as I proceed in the book. But it definitely sounds different and fascinating.

Next I’ll be Reading-

The Matchmaker by Hélene Fermont

Marcia Bailey has it all: a passionate marriage to a rich and handsome man who is utterly devoted to her; fame and success as London’s premier matchmaker; a beautiful home in a posh neighbourhood, and fabulous holidays in exotic places.

But her perfect life turns into a nightmare overnight when a mysterious caller suddenly threatens to reveal secrets from her past she thought she had left behind forever. Who is he and what does he really want? He says he wants three million pounds to keep quiet, and she’s willing to pay. After all, she has already sacrificed so much, and perfect lives don’t come cheap.

But Marcia has a hunch her caller wants more than money from her. He wants to hurt and humiliate her. But why?

As police investigate a brutal murder in a wealthy London neighborhood, they untangle a web of lies, violence, sex and jealousy surrounding Marcia Bailey and the group of wealthy and powerful men who have secrets of their own to keep.

The Matchmaker is filled with unexpected twists and turns — and characters that will haunt you long after you’ve read the last page.

Sounds interesting, right? I have read One Fatal Night by Helene Fermont. I enjoyed it and I wanted to read more books by author. This sounds thrilling and I’m already curious who is that caller and how he knows Marcia’s secret.

Thank you for reading! Let’s chat!
