It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (40)
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?’ is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
Hello Book Lovers! I hope you all had a wonderful week. It’s been a good week for me, would have been great if I haven’t had sore throat and runny nose during weekends. I spent most of weekend sleeping and resting as I couldn’t even check phone due to heavy head. But Monday started better. Feeling good that I can continue reading.
Last week I read-
Anne of Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables #2) by L.M. Montgomery
Currently reading-
To Kill a Mockingbird (To Kill a Mockingbird #1) by Harper Lee
The unforgettable novel of a childhood in a sleepy Southern town and the crisis of conscience that rocked it, To Kill A Mockingbird became both an instant bestseller and a critical success when it was first published in 1960. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1961 and was later made into an Academy Award-winning film, also a classic.
Compassionate, dramatic, and deeply moving, To Kill A Mockingbird takes readers to the roots of human behavior – to innocence and experience, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos. Now with over 18 million copies in print and translated into forty languages, this regional story by a young Alabama woman claims universal appeal. Harper Lee always considered her book to be a simple love story. Today it is regarded as a masterpiece of American literature.
I finished 40% of this book. This is nice so far.
The Holiday Cruise by Victoria Cooke
As if it weren’t enough to be cheated on by her husband of ten years, Yorkshire lass Hannah Davis is losing her beauty salon business too. Luckily, her big sister is there to pick up the pieces, but Hannah is determined to find some independence.
Impulsively, Hannah applies for a spa job…on a cruise ship! Christmas in the Caribbean, springtime in the Mediterranean, what’s not to like? But, despite being in her thirties, Hannah has never done anything in her own before, and she’s terrified.
As the ship sets sail, Hannah has never been further from home…or closer to discovering who she is and who she wants to be.
I’m reading this book simultaneously and will finish it this week only but I will review it next month. I have participated in blog tour for this book in next month but during that time I might be busy and may not have time to read so I’ll keep review ready and be relaxed.
Next this week–
May be….

Great post! I also read To Kill a Mockingbird for school but it wasn’t one of my personal favorites unfortunately. Right now I’m currently reading Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan and loving it! I’m hoping to have it finished before the end of the month 🙂

I watched all movie editions and even cartoon when I was child but never read a book till date. I was tempted to get the pocket edition of this book when I saw one in store. Now I’ll see if movies are better or the book. 🙂
Teri Polen
I’m reading The Echo Room by Parker Peevyhouse. So far, seems like a blend of Groundhog Day and the movie Memento.
Rosepoint Publishing
Looks like you are leaning on some classics!

I have started with children YA classics so I find them much easier and entertaining. I’ll stick to this age group for time being before I try Charles Dickens and Jane Austen.
Liv Miles
Wow, nice assortment of books! I’m reading Les Miserables right now, and I plan on reading that for the next 5 1/2 months. Seriously, if I read ten pages a day, that’s how long it will take. Happy reading! 🙂

I might forget the beginning of the book at the end of 5 months. 😀 That’s pretty big book and have heard it’s amazing. I haven’t watched movie or read a book but I’ll try it one day. Happy reading and have a great week! 🙂

Oh Tied to Deceit sounds intriguing, not heard of this one before. The Holiday Cruise on the other hand sounds like a really fun read! Enjoy your reading! I’m going to pick up a more summery read myself soon and plan to read Where The Light Gets In by Lucy Dillon 🙂

I finished only 25% of Holiday Cruise, but it is definitely relaxing, the kind you take on vacation. I guess I will like Where The Light Gets. Would love to read your thoughts on this book. 🙂
