Review

This one follows the best friendโ€™s sister and brotherโ€™s best friend trope with a childhood crush to lovers romance. The story centers on Goldie, a veterinarian who returns to her hometown after a breakup and opens her own pet clinic. She reunites with Ace, her childhood crush and her friendโ€™s brother, who is now a famous actor. Both of them had feelings for each other growing up but neither ever acted on it. Now they are older, single, and those feelings clearly never went anywhere.

What I liked most was how the author managed to introduce Goldieโ€™s family, the small town vibe, Aceโ€™s career, and both of their emotional backstories in such a short span. Their affection felt natural and soft, and the mutual pining was handled well. While it was not extraordinary or unforgettable, it worked really well as an opener for the series and set the cozy holiday tone nicely.

Review

This one was my favorite of the bunch. It starts with a meet cute on a plane between Miriam and Cal, both heading back to their hometown for the holidays. Miriam is celebrating Hanukkah and Cal is preparing for Christmas. One conversation leads to another and soon they decide to fake date to survive their respective family pressures during the holidays.

There was a lot packed into this novella in the best way possible. We get strong emotional beats, meaningful vulnerability, family dynamics, and a lovely balance of humor and heart. I especially enjoyed learning more about Hanukkah through Miriam and her family. It added depth and warmth to the story and did not feel like an afterthought. This one felt fuller, more emotional, and more memorable than the others.

When stand-up comedian Piper has a panic attack outside the club, itโ€™s not funny. But Scott, a handsome ER doctor from the crowd, gives her something to smile about as he calms her down. Review

This story follows Piper, a stand up comedian, and Scott, an ER resident doctor. They are neighbors who start exchanging texts and leaving notes for each other without knowing each otherโ€™s names or even what the other looks like. Their connection grows through words before faces, which made the romance feel genuine.

I liked how their eventual meeting was handled and how the reveal of their identities played out. Both characters are unsure about their lives and careers, carrying their own insecurities and doubts. Watching them find comfort in each other and slowly realize what they want felt sweet and relatable. It was not overly dramatic, just two slightly lost people choosing each other.

Review

This novella focuses on Juliana and Eric, a recently broken engagement that no one in their family knows about yet. To avoid awkward questions and holiday chaos, they decide to pretend they are still together for Christmas. As expected, being forced into close proximity brings unresolved feelings back to the surface.

I liked how the story explored what broke them apart in the first place instead of brushing it off. Their past, miscommunication, and emotional distance were handled with care. During the holiday, they slowly rediscover why they fell in love and choose to take things slow rather than rushing into or out of the relationship. It was mature, reflective, and quietly satisfying.

Overall, Home Sweet Holidays delivers exactly what it promises. Cozy holiday romance with familiar tropes, festive settings, and emotional comfort. Some novellas stand out more than others, but all of them were enjoyable. The short length works in its favor, making it ideal for busy readers or anyone in a reading slump.

If you are looking for deep, groundbreaking romance, this may not be it. But if you want warmth, holiday vibes, soft emotions, and quick wins for your reading goal, this series absolutely does the job. Perfect for December nights with a blanket, a hot drink, and zero stress.
