April 2025 Wrap Up : From Slow Reads to Summer Feels

I hope you all had an amazing April — mine was a strange mix of slow days and blink-and-it’s-gone weeks. When I look back on the month, it feels like April barely stopped to wave on its way out. Check out life highlights, books read and plan for May in this April 2025 Wrap Up.

April 2025 Wrap Up

Reading-wise, I didn’t get through as many books as last month, and it somehow felt like I was reading in slow motion. Life definitely had something to do with that! My daughter’s new school started at the beginning of April and wrapped up just before the month ended — now we’re officially on summer break.

Watching her settle in has been a highlight: she was excited to go every day and was making friends, though the longer school hours have been a bit of an adjustment (for both of us!).

We did hit a few speed bumps — like her barely touching her lunchbox, despite me packing all her favorites. Between school and after school activities, our days were packed, and even though waking up an extra hour early gave me more time, I didn’t quite anticipate how much it would wear me out.

Still, April gifted us plenty of sweet family moments, including a fun day out with my parents and daughter last weekend.

We closed the month with a flurry of summer prep — registering my daughter for swimming lessons and summer camp. She’s thrilled about learning to swim, and honestly, I’m excited for her too

Plan for May

My reading goal for May: 6 books — most of which will be Emily Henry titles.

With summer vacation here, we’re staying at my mom’s place — conveniently close to the community pool and summer camp. It’s shaping up to be a month of splashes, sunscreen, and plenty of chasing my kid around — though you can bet we’re staying indoors when the midday sun turns into a furnace!

Oh, and let’s not forget: MANGO SEASON! I fully plan to eat my body weight in mangoes, no shame.
