Review

Ghosts, Thieves and Aha! Adventures is delightful book that follows 10-year-old Ashish, who initially dreads spending time at AHA! Books, the independent bookstore where his mother works. Heโ€™s convinced itโ€™ll be the most boring experience everโ€”until he steps inside. Greeted by paper graffiti at the entrance and introduced to Kavya, the bookstore ownerโ€™s energetic niece, Ashish quickly finds himself caught up in a mystery.

Someone keeps sneaking the book Success Sutra and Money Mantras onto the top tier of a display stand reserved for Kavyaโ€™s auntโ€™s favorite reads and that too without anyone’s notice. On top of that, a thief is stealing Kavyaโ€™s belongings. Intrigued, Ashish sets out to uncover whoโ€™s behind these odd occurrences.

The characters in this story are a joy. Kavya is lively and full of quirks, passionate about working at the bookstore. The regular customers add charm, and Kattabomman, the golden-haired dog, brings an extra dose of fun.

Ashish, despite his initial reluctance, soon falls in love with the bookstore, even discovering an art book that enhances his origami skills and ignites his love for reading. Seeing the bookstore and its visitors through his eyes is a treat. His teamwork with Kavya as they piece together clues and unravel the mystery is both engaging and heartwarming.

The illustrations are colorful and lively, truly bringing the characters and story to life. My child and I thoroughly enjoyed this bookโ€”itโ€™s filled with humor, mystery, friendship, and camaraderie, all wrapped in a message about embracing new experiences, following passions, and appreciating the power of love and support.

Overall, Ghosts, Thieves and Aha! Adventures is a delightful story of friendship, mystery and adventure, making it perfect for young book lover.
