Synopsis

Handsome, grumpy, workaholic.

I know what everyone says about me–just an atm where his heart used to be. Which might be true, until I saw her.

I can’t stop fantasizing about my new assistant.

Bright eyed and too young, Reese is not meant for someone like me.

3 reasons why I absolutely cannot fall for her:

1. She knows about my double life as a tattoo artist
2. I don’t do relationships
3. The way she doesn’t put up with my demanding ways

Should I have moved her desk outside my office? No, because now I have to see her constantly. Nothing says stay away from the good girl like late nights ordering her favorite take out just to see her smile, right?

One kiss and I’ll figure out how to have a night with her.

One night and I’ll be asking her to spend the weekend with me.

One weekend and I’ll have to find a way to win her heart.

Review

I absolutely loved Reese and Dawson in When You Give a Lawyer a Kiss! Both characters have a vulnerable side hidden beneath their public personas, making their journey even more compelling.

Dawson had a tough childhood, bouncing between foster homes until a defense lawyer not only saved him but also adopted him, giving him the fresh start he needed. Now a managing partner at a prestigious law firm.

Dawson is determined to stay in control and never let his guard down—until he meets Reese. His secret passion as a tattoo artist leads to their first encounter, and when Reese later joins his firm as a paralegal, he’s determined to keep her close, despite the strict no-fraternization rule.

Reese was raised by her grandparents, and with her grandfather gone and her grandmother in a care home, she’s struggling to keep their house from falling apart—all while juggling law school and a limited budget. Her job at the firm is a lifeline, even if it means enduring a demanding boss.

When Dawson steps in, she’s relieved but also worried that his interference could put her job at risk. Especially since their undeniable chemistry had already sparked with one unforgettable kiss before she even started working there. I loved watching their relationship unfold and wondering whether their connection would cost Reese her job.

Dawson, though intimidating to the world, has a heart-melting soft side. His thoughtful gestures don’t just win over Reese—they extend beyond the pages, making readers fall for him too. Seeing this guarded man open up to Reese, learning to compromise in a relationship rather than control it, was incredibly satisfying.

Reese, on the other hand, is used to handling everything on her own, never asking for help. But with Dawson, she learns that she doesn’t have to carry her burdens alone. I loved how she slowly let him into her close circle, sharing parts of herself she never revealed to anyone else.

While she avoids confrontation in the workplace, with Dawson, she’s bold and brave—eventually finding the strength to stand up for herself. Her passion and ambition are admirable, and I loved how Dawson wholeheartedly supported her dreams.

Their chemistry is electric, and even though their initial attraction leans toward insta-lust, I appreciated how they took the time to build their relationship. Dawson’s friendship with Harrison was another highlight, adding warmth and depth to the story.

The climax was somewhat expected but still had a twist I didn’t see coming, which was a pleasant surprise. And of course, Dawson and Reese’s happily-ever-after was everything I hoped for!

Overall, When You Give a Lawyer a Kiss is a delightful and heartwarming workplace romance that’s equal parts swoony and satisfying.
