Synopsis

I, Everly Townstead, need to stop fantasizing about my brother’s billionaire best friend.

Should I have accidentally married the notorious charmer in Vegas? No, because he’s trying to buy my family’s company.

Nothing says trust and unity between two businesses like an (accidental) marriage of convenience, right?

3 reasons why I absolutely cannot fall for my fake husband:

1. My brother would be furious
2. I can’t risk my heart getting broken again
3. Cash Stafford doesn’t do serious–ever

Smart girls like me don’t end up with men who flirt with easy smiles.

Men like Cash Stafford don’t ask for forever.

Except I’ll never forget he’s the boy I made a wedding pact with when I was eighteen.

One drunken mistake later – I, Everly Townstead, am completely hitched.

Review

If You Give a Billionaire a Bride is another delightful and heartwarming installment in the Aspen Grove series, focusing on Cash, the third-youngest Stafford sibling, and his childhood friend, first crush, and best friend’s sister, Everly.

The epilogue of the previous book teased a surprising reveal: Cash returned to Aspen Grove for a family photo, unexpectedly married to Everly. That twist left me eager to uncover how the carefree, laid-back Stafford brother ended up married to his long-time crush.

We get the answer in the beginning of If You Give a Billionaire a Bride. Cash and Everly last saw each other fourteen years ago in school when Everly was dumped and to cheer her up Cash made a marriage pact with her stating, “they will marry each other if they’re still single by the time they are 30”.

Fast forward 14 years, and Everly has become cold and guarded, having sworn off men and relationships after heartbreak and witnessing her mother’s empty romances. Meanwhile, a chance encounter with Cash in Vegas leads to drinks, memories of the pact, and a wild night that ends with them waking up married.

It was fun to see how their relationship evolves—will they stay married? Can Cash soften Everly’s views on love? And how might this unexpected union reshape both their lives?

Writing is just as gripping and fun as previous books. Told from both Cash and Everly’s perspectives, the dual narrative offers deep insights into their personalities and emotions. I breezed through the book and couldn’t put it down until the last page. I enjoyed glimpse of their Vegas wedding throughout the book.

Cash is a free-spirited, fun-loving Casanova who has never had a serious relationship. Despite his easygoing nature, he’s been hung up on Everly since high school but respected his best friend’s warning to keep his distance. Now that fate has brought them together, Cash is determined to win her over. I loved his patience with Everly’s frosty demeanor, his unwavering care for her, and the thoughtful ways he treated her like royalty, fulfilling her wishes while helping her heal.

Although previous books only hinted at Cash’s backstory, this installment delves deeper, revealing insecurities he’s hidden since a car accident left him scarred 14 years ago. Seeing how his love for Everly helped him confront those insecurities and become a better person was touching and lovely.

Everly, once a confident and hopeful romantic in school, is now guarded after enduring her parents’ divorce, her mother’s string of unfulfilling relationships, and her father’s bullying. She has spent years caring for her mother alone, tolerating her father’s behavior, and never telling about any of it to her twin brother, Theo. Watching Everly slowly open up, with Cash’s persistent kindness showing her that love is still possible, was one of the most rewarding aspects of the story. I also appreciated how she learned to lean on those around her.

The sibling dynamics were another highlight. The Stafford family’s close bond, developed over the series, continues to shine, and Everly’s relationships with her twin brother Theo, as well as her stepbrothers August and Liam, were equally endearing. I only wish there had been a scene where Theo finally met August and Liam—it felt like a long-awaited moment was missing.

Romance is lovely and steamy. I loved their initial bickering that soon turned into cozy couple routine and understanding that made them fall for each other. I loved their dates and their trip to Aspen Grove. My favorite scenes were Cash buying heels for Everly, Cash standing up to Everly’s father and his bullying, Everly’s chat with Marlow, and Cash’s conversation with Harrison.

The climax was perfect, avoiding a third-act breakup and instead delivering a satisfying resolution with the acquisition of both Stafford’s and Everly’s father’s companies. The story concluded with a heartwarming and uplifting happily-ever-after for Cash and Everly.

Overall, If You Give a Billionaire a Bride is an uplifting, cozy, and delightful childhood friends-to-lovers romance that I couldn’t put down.
