What is the Liebster Award? (Excerpt from Norin’s blog)
I was nominated for this award by Norin. Check out Norin’s amazing blog – Diary of a Bookfiend. Thanks for nominating me!! <3 🙂 <3
“Liebster” is a German word meaning beloved, dearest, sweetheart, or darling.
For bloggers, the Liebster Award is an online recognition given by other bloggers to new bloggers for enjoying or appreciating their work. It highlights up and coming blogs.
Once nominated, a blogger is asked to answer 11 questions provided by the nominating blogger. They are then expected to nominate 11 other favorite new bloggers and come up with a list of 11 new questions for those nominees.
The Rules:
- Acknowledge the blog who nominated you and display the award.
- Answer the 11 questions the blogger gives you.
- Nominate 11 blogs.
- Notify those blogs of the nomination.
- Give them 11 questions to answer.
Questions given by Norin:
1. What inspired you to start blogging?
My love for reading (obvious) and love got from Goodreads readers. When I joined Goodreads, I honestly didn’t know I could write a good review. I still remember the first review I wrote on Goodreads, how short it was, just few sentences! And that is too because I participated in a group (few of members might know) – “YA Buddy Readers’ Corner”. In that challenge I needed to write a detailed review after reading a book to get points. I seriously didn’t know how to do that. (Reading and writing review was not something I was taught since childhood. In fact, I started reading mainly to improve my English, and my English was pathetic before)
So, I started following few Goodreads members and saw how they are writing, how a proper review should be, did a little research. I realized how big this community is. When l started writing review properly and saw that fellow readers liked that. It encouraged me more, I improved a lot after that. And then I received my first ARC through that group too. So, yes I really like being a part of it. After I guess 6 months of writing reviews on Goodreads, I thought I should start a blog. And I have lot of free time so, here I am. Pheww!! This answer is too long. I hope it’s not boring.
2. Other than blogging, what are your passions in life? (name the top 1)
Umm, I was passionate for badminton, hand embroidery, craft- paper quilling before. But I stopped doing all that, I don’t know why.
Reading. It’s part of blogging so if it counts… I’m reading English book since last 2 years, as I keep mentioning . But, I read Gujarati (my mother tongue) books intermittently before. My grandparents had a mini library of all Indian tales, mythology, and history books. Passion for reading was always there, I got proper hold now.
3. Suppose you won a huge windfall that would surely last the rest of your life, what would you do with the money?
I will open my own bookshop. I guess I will read more than sell. So I know I’ll be in loss, but with lot of money, it won’t affect. 😀
4. What is your favorite place to read?
My Living room- It’s airy and comfy.
5. Give me your tips to stay awake and keep reading at night when you’re awfully sleepy.
No tips! If I’m sleepy I sleep, I can’t stay awake. Though my reading time at night is not fixed. If I can’t sleep, I read till 4 or 5, one or 2 times I read till morning 6. If I’m tired I sleep at 11 or 12 while reading. 12 is normal sleeping time.
6. Which of the following do you see yourself fit as a reader – having multiple books going at the same time or single-mindedly focusing on one book?
Mostly 2 at a time. One on tab and when my tab is getting charged I read on laptop.
7. How would you describe yourself in a few words?
Straightforward. Active- I find one or other thing to spend time, I utilize time in teaching myself something. I won’t spend my time gossiping. Never! Sarcastic- my husband always complain about this.
My attitude is always based on how you treat me.
8. Are you athletic or good at sports? (because I’m NOT; I’m curious!)
No! I’m not athletic. I did all those swimming, skating, summer camp activities during school days. Ha! Long time. Now I just do home exercises and walking. 😀
9. What is your go-to method to vent your stress?
Read a book. Or a good movie, specifically Marvel or animated movies.
10. Tell us the name of the city (or place) you have never visited but desperately want to.
Leh Ladakh, Kashmir, India. Want to see and feel the beauty of this place.
11. Give me one thing that is on your bucket list (or thing you really want to do in your lifetime).
A house in woods, or near woods. Just like in novels but for real.
I’m rule breaker. Did I mention that in few words about yourself? So, here I’m breaking rule. I’m not going to tag anyone. It’s open for all who come across this post. Consider yourself nominated. Same questions. All my followers are beloved, dearest, sweetheart, or darling. 😉
Happy Reading!

Great answers!!
I made the mistake to reread my first reviews, hahaha! It was awful! Thankfully we learn as we go and it becomes… less bad xD

Thank you! So true 🙂

Great answers and wow, you literally blew my mind – ‘All my followers are beloved, dearest, sweetheart, or darling’- how beautifully you put it!
I loved all your answers, but I was particularly touched and moved by your blog startup story. I felt exactly the same way, when I started posting reviews (more like my personal thoughts), my posts were really pathetic; short, immature (childish) and not in-depth enough.
After blogging 9 months, I’m still struggling with writing reviews mainly because of my small vocabulary and English issues. That said, I’m thinking of rewriting some of my earlier posts from next month.
Sorry for the long comment. I totally enjoyed reading this!

Being a non-native English speaker. That is one thing we have in common. I also struggle with small vocabulary.. I might be a highest google user in finding definition and synonym of words. And also, I have this ridiculous habit of eating words. Many time I skip a word in sentence. On re-reading I realize it and have go back edit post. 😀 Relax, don’t stress over it.
