Synopsis

I, Fallon Hayes, need to stop playing pranks on my boss. Did I mention he’s my new roommate?

Being the private chef for the retired hockey player who haunts my fantasies is a bad idea. Living down the hall from him is an even worse idea, especially considering the one night stand we had ten years ago.

What happened back then was unforgettable. Proof that we are destined to hate each other.

3 reasons why I absolutely cannot fall for my boss / roommate / one-night-stand:

1. I hate him and haven’t spoken to him in a decade.
2. Poisoning your CEO client is bad for the chef business.
3. Harrison Stafford obviously doesn’t do commitment (unless it’s the demon cat we’ve adopted).

Pranking Harrison is the highlight of my day. Sure, I work for him. But bedazzling his most prized possession is just one of the secret ingredients for my innocent revenge.

One night with him again – and I, Fallon Hayes, know I’m about to get burned.

Review

If You Give a CEO a Chance is a charming, heartfelt finale to the Aspen Grove series, spotlighting Harrison—CEO of Staffords Holding and eldest of the Stafford clan—and Fallon, a renowned allergy-friendly chef.

Harrison and Fallon once shared a whirlwind weekend ten years ago, but a misunderstanding left them with unresolved bitterness. When they cross paths again at Cash and Everly’s wedding, old wounds resurface. Harrison initially considers hiring Fallon as his personal chef (he has Celiac disease), but their fiery reunion quickly proves they’re a recipe for disaster—at least professionally.

Enter Johanna, Harrison’s ever-meddling mother and matchmaking mastermind, who insists Fallon not only work for Harrison but also move in with him. Cue forced proximity, clashing egos, and escalating pranks that are as hilarious as they are revealing.

Despite their differences—Harrison’s buttoned-up control vs. Fallon’s creative independence—the walls start to crumble. Their chemistry simmers, old truths come to light, and they’re forced to finally face the past.

I’ve loved Harrison since book one. His loyalty to family, his quiet sacrifices, and the way he carried the Stafford legacy while his siblings pursued their dreams made him easy to root for. The reveal of what really happened ten years ago that made him leave his dream of playing hockey, how deeply it shaped him, and his vulnerability with his disease tugged at my heart.

I loved how how the same revelation changed his perspective towards Fallon and how conversation with his family made him not to stall the decision to be with Fallon.

Fallon is fierce, passionate, and refreshingly stubborn. It was touching to read her difficult childhood that came with losing parent and living with toxic grandmother that left deep scars. It surprised me how she could go toe-to-toe with Harrison whom most people found intimidating but could get hurt by grandmother and her hollow words.

While I didn’t love her knee-jerk reaction to the past or her unwillingness to seek out the truth sooner, I liked how her perspective changed even before the revelation. It was amazing to see how living with Harrison boost her self-confidence, helped her cement her belief in her dream and found the family and support system she never had before.

The second-chance romance is sizzling, filled with tension, witty banter, and yes—a cat who practically steals the show. The pranks they play on each other add levity and charm, keeping things from getting too angsty.

Seeing the entire Stafford family again was a delight. Their group chats had me laughing out loud, and the charity hockey game was a fun, full-circle moment for Harrison. But it was the epilogue—told from Johanna’s POV—that really sealed the deal for me. A perfect send-off for a beloved cast.

Overall, If You Give a CEO a Chance is a warm, witty, and satisfying conclusion to the Aspen Grove series. It’s got heart, humor, healing—and a hero worth melting for.
