Children’s books reviews : Stories for 3-7 yr old kids
Hello readers! As I said in my 2023 goals, I’m going to read to my kid every week and if possible, more and once I started I actually read her almost daily. From various stories I read to her, I came to know she likes books with fewer sentences more pictures and if she has to listen to long stories she pays attention for some time and then falls asleep!! I also read her bedtime stories available on the internet and have discovered she loves princess stories more and I’m not surprised Cinderella is her favorite so far. So here are children’s book reviews of stories for 3-7 yr old kids. Check out which one my kid loved-

Review
My kid read this on her own. It is a cute book with lovely illustrations that introduce first shape and then animals playing the objects with similar shape. Illustrations are bright and colorful and even ebook looked beautiful so I’m sure physical book might be even more beautiful that kids would love to read and flip through again and again.

Review
Another book that my kid read herself and she loves to read this daily. Learning opposites with animal pictures makes this book different than other opposite board books I have seen so far. We dive right into the book that first shows the picture of an animal with a word and then its opposite with an animal picture. Mine is eARC so I have to flip the page for the opposite word but I think physical book might have both opposite words side by side (see pic below). There are easy opposite words for early learning kids. Animal illustrations are very cute and each opposite word set has different bright colors.

Review
Another book my kid almost read herself. She enjoyed identifying animals. Reina and her friends visit the zoo with Reina’s parents and one by one they explore the animals. What is good in this is each animal is described with small facts. The illustrations are colorful and the rhymes are good but not the best.

Review
This is Kindle Free book I downloaded and read to My kid. It’s bit long for her as there are more sentences than illustrations and she, of course, couldn’t get the deeper meaning of ragtag crew, misunderstood lion who is actually very nice, making friends who are different from each other have their own characteristics, how they all care and love each other that sheds their differences and make them all same living in their jungle home together as a family. However, she enjoyed identifying each animal and she could get some easy words like friends, funny, teeth, help, etc. It’s really good for 5-7yrs old kids.

When your little ones learn to speak and understand and imagine the stories you tell them, it’s a good time to read books to them. Instead, until those years, it is better to give him dolls with which he will imagine his first stories.

Very well said. But I believe in telling kids story as much much as you can. Even if they don’t understand it, I have noticed they love hearing parent’s voice.

Great reviews, Yesha. I love hearing what the kids love and my grandkids loved the first two as well when we read them together before. I also love that you are reading to her or with her every day, the best way to grow a reader.

Thank you, Carla! That’s my plan and I wish she loves books as much as I do.

These sound awesome, especially the first two! I like the idea and would totally do the same as you. There are so many out there but it’s almost our duty to find the good ones! 😀

Thank you, Lashaan! It’s interesting to see what kids love and which stories they prefer. Now my kid can start all princess stories on her own with “once upon a time in land far far away…” It’s so much fun!

My kid loved first two most. She asks to read animal shapes and opposites daily. I have them in NetGalley app but if she keeps asking to read them I have to get those in physical book!

I love that your daughter helps you review the books. I think it’s so important to have a child’s point of view for children’s books.

It’s great to read with her and I love it when she can read books for her age on her own.
