I finally watched Bridgerton 2 #weeklywrapup

Hello readers! It’s been a long weekend. I hope you all had fun time. I don’t like long weekends. It gets tough to keep my kid occupied. But for a day I left responsibility of my kid to my mom and husband and I finally watched Bridgerton 2. That means I couldn’t finish the second book I started but it was worth it.

I finally watched Bridgerton 2

I enjoyed the second season. It was interesting to know Brigertons more. Regency era is fascinating like the first season. And Aubrey hall was beautiful. I sure want to get books now.

I also saw what all the critique was about when it came to things about India in the season. I’m okay they did make it a bit colonial, in the era it was like that, but I have to agree with some comments– the Ghalib (The poet was just a kid at that time, how he has written poetry?!), Hindi language called ‘Hindustani’ (people are called Hindustani not language) and instrument ‘maruli’ (it’s actually “Murali” – means flute). There is also funny comments on how bad the maker of the season was with regional aspect. Indian main characters of the season call their father ‘Appa’ (which is South Indian word for father) but their surname is Sharma (that is North Indian surname) and they speak Marathi (that is a Mumbai language, West India) and ‘Bon’ means sister in Bengali (that is East India). So where exactly they were from in India? I had good laugh at that. They sure needed to do research there. But otherwise story is interesting.

Business Not as Usual by Sharon C. Cooper

This was good but as I said in my review, you have to suspend belief. It was cute, fluffy, hot, and light-hearted romance.

The No-Show by Beth O’Leary

I’m at 40% of this and so far it’s going slow. I still wonder why Joseph is dating three women at the same time. He doesn’t look like those cheating bastards, smug or egoistic. It doesn’t look like he has some motif or something which is making me extra curious to know why he is doing that. Clearly, two of the women already know he is seeing other women and it’s hard to believe they are ignoring it and don’t want to confront him. I love writing, so I’m definitely reading other books by author even if this didn’t turn out better in the second half. I hope things speed up a little in the second half.

The Mad Girls of New York (Nellie Bly #1) by Maya Rodale

Fearless reporter Nellie Bly will stop at nothing to chase down stories that expose injustices against women—even if it comes at the risk of her own life and freedom—in this exciting novel inspired by the true story of one remarkable woman.

In 1887 New York City, Nellie Bly has ambitions beyond writing for the ladies pages, but all the editors on Newspaper Row think women are too emotional, respectable and delicate to do the job. But then the New York World challenges her to an assignment she’d be mad to accept and mad to refuse: go undercover as a patient at Blackwell’s Island Insane Asylum for Women.

For months, rumors have been swirling about deplorable conditions at Blackwell’s, but no reporter can get in—that is, until Nellie feigns insanity, gets committed and attempts to survive ten days in the madhouse. Inside, she discovers horrors beyond comprehension. It’s an investigation that could make her career—if she can get out to tell it before two rival reporters scoop her story.

From USA Today bestselling author Maya Rodale comes a rollicking historical adventure series about the outrageous intrigues and bold flirtations of the most famous female reporter—and a groundbreaking rebel—of New York City’s Gilded Age.

Now that definitely sounds insane! I already fear if she will get out and write a story or will be stuck there.
