March 2025 Wrap Up – A Thrilling and fulfilling month

I hope you all had a marvelous March. For me, March was a wonderful month in every way. From personal milestones to great reads, it turned out to be a fulfilling month all around. Here’s a look at how my month unfolded, both in life and in books, in my March 2025 wrap Up.

March 2025 Wrap Up - A Thrilling and fulfilling month

March 2025 in Life

As I mentioned in my weekly updates, I really enjoyed having the house to myself this month. It was the final stretch of the school year, and it was a bittersweet moment to watch my kid perform at Graduation Day and say goodbye to the school that had challenged us both throughout the year.

We also had the chance to plan a trip to Mumbai, which turned out to be such a fun experience. My kid had an absolute blast. March was both relaxing and tiring month, tiring due to travel to Mumbai by car and relaxing as I didn’t have to wake up early for school and didn’t have to stick to the schedule of the day.

The last week of March was spent running around getting ready for the new school year. We picked up new uniforms and books, and my kid was beyond excited about the fresh start. Today, April 1st, is the first day at the new school, and I can’t wait to hear all about it!

March 2025 in Books

It was a great month for finishing series! I’m thrilled to have completed two in March. I really enjoyed The Secret Scientists of London series, with A Lady’s Formula for Love and A Perfect Equation being standouts. Both books were absolutely 5-star reads for me. While I also liked the third book, A Love by Design, it didn’t quite match up to the previous two. Interestingly, in this book, I found myself more drawn to the hero than the heroine, which was the reverse of what happened in the first two. Still, a solid 4 stars for A Love by Design.

The Housemaid series had been on my radar for a while, thanks to all the hype, but fortunately, it did live up to expectations. The Housemaid had an intriguing premise, introducing the murderess queen, Millie who also was amazing in The Housemaid’s Secret but somehow I didn’t like her or rather her mellowed version in The Housemaid is Watching. The plot was overly complicated, melodramatic, and, to my surprise, the housemaid wasn’t even present for much of the story. Overall, I rated the series this way: 4 stars for The Housemaid, 5 stars for The Housemaid’s Secret, and 3.5 stars for The Housemaid is Watching.

I read Zooni’s Alarm Clock (5 starss) and Wrestling Day (4 Stars) with my kid. Both are beautifully illustrated stories that celebrate cultural heritage while also highlighting problem-solving skills and family bonds.

Ghosts, Thieves, and Aha! Adventures and Jumble Sale were another delightful additions to my child’s library. We both had a blast with the mystery set in a bookstore in the first, while the second took us on some mischievous adventures with two siblings. Both books earned a solid 4 stars!

I thoroughly enjoyed When You Give A Lawyer a Kiss. It was a fun, sizzling workplace romance with great chemistry between the characters. Though the climax was somewhat predictable, I still enjoyed every moment of the story.

Lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed all 13 stories in The Return of Sherlock Holmes. I was surprised by how quickly and abruptly Moriarty’s fate was wrapped up, but it was still fascinating to see Sherlock Holmes make his comeback. Among these, my favorites were The Adventure of the Empty House, The Adventure of the Priory School, The Adventure of Black Peter, and The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton.

What I watched in March 2025

I also had some time to dive into a few shows and movies this month!

Enola Holmes 1 and 2 were a blast—perfect for middle-grade and teen mystery lovers. I loved the idea of Sherlock having a sister with his intelligence but a much more upbeat and fun personality. The mystery in the second movie was much more complex than the first, and it took some serious twists and turns that kept me hooked.

I also watched Night Agent Season 2, and it was a rollercoaster. I couldn’t predict a single thing, and every twist was a shocker. The tension built up so well throughout the season, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

Hope your daughter had a fantastic first day at school, Yesha. The Night Agent is also on my list, but I may have to do a rewatch of season one.

I am so glad you had a wonderful March, and I hope that continues into April and beyond! Especially with the fresh start for your daughter and school.

And what a fabulous month of reading as well! I also loved the first books better in the Everett series, but still found the 3rd entertaining. Have you started the next series? I’ve got the Lady Sparks a Flame loaded on my kindle to read next and am hoping it’ll be better than The Love Remedy which fell a little flat for me … but the covers are gorgeous

Thank you Rebecca! I hope new school turns out great for my kid. I just finished The Love remedy and I really enjoyed it. It’s not same as The Secret scientists and often I wanted Lucy to just talk to her siblings and vice versa but it was great to see them all trying to do what they love. I will be starting Lady Sparks a Flame today as soon as I finish writing review for Love Remedy.

No, there are board system- a state board (all states in India have it’s own board and set a curriculum differently) and central board called CBSE (Curriculum of which is same all over India). My kid is in CBSE board and that starts in April which is introductory month for kids, they get acquainted with new class, new teachers, and also gets syllabus for the year. May is summer vacation (usually 35-40 days). The actual studies starts in June. There is 15 days vacation around Diwali (either October or November depending on calendar when Diwali is) and then year ends in mid March. There is 15 days break before next year starts again in April.

It looks like it was a good month in many ways, Yesha. I hope your daughter’s first day at her new school was wonderful. Will she have any support? I have only read the first two Housemaid books, so have to get to the third. I didn’t realize there was going to be another one though. I hope April is as good a month for you.

March sounds like a great month – especially getting to enjoy a trip away! 🙂 I’ve not read the housemaid books yet, but can’t wait. I bought the second thinking you could read them as standalones, but then heard they probably should be read in order, and so I still need to go out and get the 1st aha. It’s been a while since I watched Enola Holmes, but they were a great easy switch off watch. I’ve yet to watch season 2 of the Night Agent though – might start that soon actually! 😀 xo
