June was amazing month in reading and life #MonthlyWrapup #WeeklyWrapUp

Hello everyone! I hope you all are well and had an amazing June. June was an amazing month in reading and life. I still couldn’t do some of the things I planned but that’s life and at least it was still much better than May. Check out June Highlights, books I read and also Weekly wrap Up in the end of the post.

June Highlights

Best one week I got with just me and my kid when my husband was away. I missed having house to myself and my kid was on her best behavior. But at the same time I had to take a break from my daily walking as I couldn’t leave my kid home and had to stay at home with her.

amazing month in reading and life

I had two meetings with her class teacher, it was interesting to see how she is doing in class. Apparently, she still doesn’t like to sit during circle time, she keep roaming in the class while all other kids sit and chat or participate in whatever activity they do in circle time. Her teacher called her “Roamer” and it’s apt. I’m glad when her teachers said she knows whatever is going on in class even though she isn’t sitting at one place. I was surprised when her teacher said she eats by herself in class because at home I have to run after her and have to feed her.

I could read all the books I planned to read.

I learned to make transition reels in Instagram better.

I started Word of the Week this month. It helps to remember new words and pay more attention to what I’m reading.

Adult Assembly Required is  enertaining, heartwarming, lovely, uplifting, bookish and nerdy fiction with theme of friendship and adulthood that all nerds and bookworms will enjoy. It’s the writing and characters that make the story most fun and fascinating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Beach Trap is heartening, entertaining, lovely, and a wonderful summerry beach read with so many emotions, layers, and Parent Trap vibe. Characters and romance is the best part of the book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For the Love of the Bard is delightful, entertaining, witty and quirky romance. this book packs more than just romance and author has included many light and serious scenes with witty dialogues and so many quirky characters. Miranda and her family are my most favorite characters. Miranda and her family are my most favorite characters. The best part is setting of Bard’s Rest. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It Happened One Summer is delightful, fun, touching and swoon worthy romance with lots of emotions and hot sexy scenes. This book balances everything just right and there is lots of sexy scenes, emotions, hilarious moments, lovely and romantic moments, and many surprises not like twist and turns but more like characters surprising me. If anyone asks me why I love this genre, I’m going to tell them to read this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Dead Romantics is poignant, touching, heartwarming, beautiful and ghostly paranormal contemporary with many layers and amazing quirky characters. The best part is the setting of Days Gone Funeral Home and Mairmont, its community, characters and most of all how death, loss, and grief is dealt in the story. it was beautiful the way the author represented it, how every person deals with their loss, and I loved how Day family chose to deal with it. Even though the theme of the book is serious and emotive, it doesn’t feel too poignant. There is equal amount of love, happiness, and comfort. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Out of the Clear Blue Sky is perfectly delightful, emotive, realistic and relatable women’s fiction with many themes and layers. This is women-centric, character-driven story with many realistic and relatable characters. This is women-centric, character-driven story with many realistic and relatable characters. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Miss Aldridge Regrets is engaging historical crime mystery that revolves around Lena Aldridge, a showgirl in London Soho, finds herself amid murders and drama of upper class family when she has to leave London after the murder of her best friend’s husband and owner of the club she worked at. Characters and plot is interesting but what I didn’t like is the way mystery and story is wrapped up. It was hard to believe and made me question things like morals and ethics or what character chose to believe or do in the end. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank You, Next is enjoyable and entertaining second chance romance with interesting concept and theme but it lost its charm by the end of the book. ⭐⭐⭐

Weekly Wrap up

Last week I couldn’t read much. I was feeling a bit down and wasn’t in mood for anything. It might be because of lot of other things to do that didn’t give me much time for ‘Me time’. I hope this week turns out better.

Currently reading

A sexy and sparkling later-in-life contemporary romance about a woman who leaps out of her comfort zone and takes a chance on love by New York Times bestselling author Jane Porter.

Paige Newsom is finally at a place in her life where she’s comfortable. She loves her job as a college professor in Southern California, lives close enough to her mother to visit her regularly, and has three daughters who are flourishing in their own careers. Paige has no plans to upend her life again after her divorce eight years ago, but she’s about to embark on a new adventure: co-teaching a course that includes a three-week international field study.

Paige can think of a dozen reasons why she shouldn’t go, one being a dazzling Australian biologist who will be teaching alongside her. Professor Jack King is charismatic, a world traveler, and more like Indiana Jones than Indiana Jones, all of which unsettles Paige, who prides herself on being immune to any man’s charms. As the two co-professors lead the rigorous program together, first on campus, then in beautiful Tanzania, Paige’s biggest challenge will be working closely with Jack while resisting the undeniable chemistry she feels when she’s with him.

I’m at 35% and so far this is lovely, heartwarming and relaxing read. Paige is turning fifty and Jack is in his late fifties, they both had one night stand and now they meet again thirty years after and has to teach together at college. They both have interesting past and life, both love their kids, and still feel something for each other. I can’t wait to see where this is going.

Next I’ll be Reading

Dog Friendly by Victoria Schade

“Perfect to read on the beach.” -The Boston Globe

A burned-out veterinarian takes a much-needed beach vacation, where a charming surfer makes waves in her love life, and a unique foster pup renews her passion for her work.

Exhausted veterinarian Morgan Pearce is feeling overworked and under-thanked, so when two favorite clients ask her to watch their special needs senior dog in their Nantucket home, she jumps at the chance for a summer break. She hopes her time on the island will be a reset from the stress of her everyday life, but her chill vacation vibe takes a hit when she gets roped into fostering a challenging, anxious dog and helping plan the local rescue group’s glittery annual fundraiser.

Her trip starts to feel more like a vacation when Morgan begins falling for Nathan Keating, an irresistible entrepreneur who thinks every problem can be solved on a surfboard. Just as the summer is shaping up to be the magical refresh she needs, thanks to a fling that feels like the beginning of something real and Hudson, the foster dog who reminds her how much she loves her job, a visit from her estranged brother and the discovery of who Nathan really is changes everything. Morgan finds herself at a crossroads, trying to determine if mistakes from the past must define the future, or if she should forgive, forget, and grab hold of a chance to finally rescue herself.

This sounds lovely and heartwarming.
