It’s been Normal week

Hello readers! I didn’t write last week’s wrap up as there hasn’t been anything to add and I wasn’t in mood to write. And looks like there isn’t anything different last week too. It’s been normal week with normal routines during week and weekends with family but unlike the previous week, today I’m in mood to write this post.

Saturday I took my kid to a therapist’s clinic (We don’t go to see therapist as she said there is lot of improvement in her speech and she doesn’t need sessions anymore) as they invited all kids to celebrate autism day. She loved playing there with other kids and visiting and hearing positive comments from one of the therapists made me feel lot better as there are some days that make some people say things that in a way make me worry more. So it was a good day and it made my week hearing something positive about my kid. Sometimes it’s hard to make everyone understand my kid is not like every other kid and she takes her own time to learn things.

What I read

Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter

Like I said in my Monthly Wrap Up post. This was good, I even enjoyed first half of the book but third part and the ending was disappointing. I liked main characters but at the same time they managed to be annoying and did things that I didn’t like. And some of the things were left unresolved and were unsatisfying.

Zero Day by S. Hussain Zaidi

This is solely plot driven thriller with super simple writing that made me flip pages super fast. I could finish the book in a day. Only issue with this is characters are one-dimensional, there is no development and I didn’t feel anything for them. If they would have died, wouldn’t have cared.

I’m Starting

Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3) by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza–but who knows what they’ll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady’s cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza’s ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys–an old flame from Asha’s past–reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict. With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heros will fall, and hearts will be broken.

From bestselling author duo Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff comes the exciting finale in the trilogy that broke the mold and has been called “stylistically mesmerizing” and “out-of-this-world-awesome.”

I’m buddy reading this with Toni. We wanted to start this as soon as we finished Gemina but I had soem priority reads. We are both excited for this last book trilogy. Last thing I imagined is they go back to Kerenza but that makes sense so I’m extra curious what they will do there and how they will find the planet.

Next this Week

Business Not as Usual by Sharon C. Cooper

A woman learns the hard way about mixing business with pleasure in this hilarious new romantic comedy by USA Today bestselling author Sharon C. Cooper.

I am beautiful. I am confident. I am lovable. I am a lottery winner.

This is the mantra that will get Dreamy Daniels through each day until she makes it big. So what if she lives in a seedy part of Los Angeles in a house that’s one earthquake away from crumbling, or works an unfulfilling secretarial job while struggling to finish her bachelor’s degree? All Dreamy needs to do is win the lottery, which she’s been entering in as a weekly tradition with her grandfather. When she catches the attention of her boss’s potential investor, Dreamy has to remind herself to focus on her career goals so she can be her own boss. Who cares if he has the social grace of the Duke of Sussex and the suaveness of Idris Elba? No distractions allowed.

Growing up with a father who is an A-list actor and a socialite mother, venture capitalist Karter Redford lives in the world of the rich and famous. Instead of attending movie premieres, however, he prefers spending his time helping the less fortunate, backing start-up companies and investing in cutting edge ideas. Karter is used to his life revolving around work, but when he decides he wants someone to share it with, he falls for someone his mother would never approve of: hilarious, quirky Dreamy, who has goals of her own…but also isn’t a wealthy, upper-crust socialite. Though it’s clear they’re from different worlds, their relationship might just be his greatest investment yet.

I plan to read this in weekends. I have seen positive review for this and if you’re following my posts you must know more into romance or fluffy reads these days.

Thank you for reading! Let’s chat..,
