Monthly Wrap Up
Wrap-Up

Back from nearly a month long break // November in reading #monthlywrapup

Hello Readers! Finally, it feels good to be back after a month long hiatus. I was so sure before all functions started that I would have time for blog hop but soon I realised that wouldn’t be possible. Functions are fun but at the same time tiring and even more when it’s two weddings back to back. We woke up so early stayed up till late night, little sleep, dancing and taking care of kid whom I had to go looking for every 15 minutes… now we don’t want to have any get together for few months. November in reading was okay. I thought I could read 3 or 4 books but could read only 2.

An Invitation to Die (Colonel Acharya, #3) by Tanushree Podder

An Invitation to Die was third book in Colonel Acharya cozy mystery series that revolved around the murder mystery in calm peaceful small town. The story was about murder mystery, small town life, deceit, family dispute, and friendship.

My favorite part of the story was setting.

Mystery was okay. Twist and turns were predictable because of fewer suspects and hints given too early.

Overall, An Invitation to Die was enjoyable, cozy, fast paced small town mystery series with amazing setting.

I recommend this book if you like,
Small town setting
Indian setting
easy and light mystery
multiple perspectives
gossips and drama

Crazy Rich Asians (Crazy Rich Asians, #1) by Kevin Kwan

Crazy Rich Asians was interesting and dramatic fiction that revolved around Rachel’s summer vacation at Singapore with her boyfriend Nick and meeting Nick’s relatives that changed her whole life and her view of her boyfriend. The story was about East Asian culture, tradition, life style of crazy rich people, snobbery, prejudice, social class difference, perceptions towards people from mainland China or overseas, family, friendship, and love.

This was more character driven with lots of characters. I loved Astrid and Oliver most out of all secondary character. Best part of the book was footnotes. There was romance but it wasn’t main or major part of the story which was surprise for me.

Full review will be up this week.
