Wrap-Up

Weekly Wrap-up : (25/01/’21) #WeeklyWrapup #WeekinReading

Hello Readers! I hope you all are safe and had great week. I’m really satisfied how things went last week. It’s been great reading week and I also had fun family time so all in all it was well balanced week.

What I read last week –

Waiting for Tom Hanks (Waiting for Tom Hanks #1) by Kerry Winfrey

This was fun read. There was everything you might have read in romcom and yet it was refreshing, entertaining and lovely book. There were lots of references of romcom movies and actors and actresses of romcoms which made it even more fresh. I haven’t watched all those movies mentioned in this and yet I enjoyed this book a lot. I can’t wait to read Chloe and Nick’s story in sequel. Review will be up tomorrow.

Mr Right Across the Street by Kathryn Freeman

This was readalong book that is starting from tomorrow and it’s also tour book that is in March so I’ll be sharing little bit about book on social media but review will be up along with blog tour. This was good. On purely enjoyment and entertainment basis I loved this book, I would have it given 5 star but there were some points I couldn’t ignore and heroine was frustrating half the time. It might be 3.5 star from me.

Currently Reading-

It’s All Love: Reflections for Your Heart & Soul by Jenna Ortega

This uplifting and beautifully illustrated gift book from award-winning actress Jenna Ortega will inspire you to lean into faith and love and family during life’s most difficult, and most joyous, moments.

I want you, my readers, to know that you are not alone. We are in this together.

This collection from actress Jenna Ortega is filled with Jenna’s own original quotes and affirmations, alongside intimate, personal stories about growing up Latina in Hollywood, working through depression, falling in–and out of–love, losing close family members, and so much more.

Jenna has had to balance her acting career, her private life, and public expectations from a young age, and she’s learned that the only way to get through it all is to wake up every morning and affirm her commitment to herself, her faith, her mental health, and her family. In this honest and moving debut, she shares openly and intimately what it means to live this life of self-appreciation.

Jenna’s vulnerability will remind readers that there’s power within us all and we are not alone in our struggles.

I’m 70% through this book will finish it by the end of the day. So far this is like non-fiction self-help book where author shares her thoughts on things she learned through her experience but in short para and quotes. It felt like those diary entries where we write what we learned today and gratitude towards friends and family. Not something I don’t know or haven’t read before. There were all points we have learned in our life so I don’t know what to think about this yet. Writing is simple, not boring and it’s fast paced due to short para for chapter and quotes as chapter heading.

Next I’ll be reading-

Georgana’s Secret by Arlem Hawks

A Regency romance on the high seas.

1811, HMS Deborah

Georgana Woodall dreams of freedom—freedom from her past and freedom from her secret. She has been living on her father’s ship for years, disguised as a cabin boy named “George.” But hiding her true self is becoming more difficult, and she yearns to break free of her life on the sea.

Lieutenant Dominic Peyton has no time in his life for love, not with his dedication to His Majesty’s Royal Navy claiming his full attention. Determined to prove himself to his new captain, he strives to be an exemplary officer and leader. When he sees the captain’s cabin boy being harassed by the crew, he immediately puts a stop to it and takes the boy under his wing.

Georgana quickly loses her heart to Dominic’s compassion and care, but needing to maintain her disguise as a cabin boy, she is convinced nothing can come of her affection.

Georgana’s Secret is about two hearts yearning to find a safe harbor, and possibly, a lasting love.

I haven’t read book set on high seas for long time and this sounds really interesting. So far review I read on this tour said the book was slow but promising. I do like regency era romance ever since I read Rags-to-Riches Wife so I’m really excited to read this. My stop is on Friday so I’ll start reading this tonight.

Have you read any of these books or going to read soon? What are you planning to read this week?
