WEEKLY WRAP-UP (25/5/’20) #WEEKINREADING #WeeklyWrapup #BooksTeacupnReviews

Hello Readers! I hope you all are well and had great week. Last week had been tiring because of my daughter’s sleeping schedule that keep changing every day and when she sleeps early, I can’t sleep. I’m up till 4 a.m. everyday! Am I turning insomniac? I still managed to read I read 3 books. I received 3 NetGalley books and with that now I have total 17 books with 84% ratio. I hope to read as many as I can in June.

What I read Last week-

Mightier Than the Sword (The Clifton Chronicles #5) by Jeffrey Archer

This was great. I enjoyed it. There was so much going on. At first I was tired of seeing the same enemies- Fisher and Virginia in this book as well and I’m still going to see Virginia in 6th and last book of this series but there were new characters and new enemies as well and when I came over that feeling I I enjoyed every pages in this book. Another cliffhanger that made me start next book as soon as I finished this. Review will be up this week.

As Much As I Ever Could by Brandy Woods Snow

This was great contemporary about getting over loss and grief and learning to live life and love again. I loved characters and setting in this book and it was perfect beach read. Review will be up tomorrow.

Just Me by Deidre Huesmann , Roxas James, Kate Larkindale , Medeia Sharif

I enjoyed all four YA LGBTQ stories. All of them made me smile except last one that brought tears in my eyes. loved all characters and theme of the stories. It was quick read. Review will be up this week.

Currently Reading-

I haven’t start anything yet. I read first few chapters of 6th book in Clifton chronicle so I will read it simultaneously with next book.

Cometh the Hour (The Clifton Chronicles #6) by Jeffrey Archer

Cometh the Hour opens with the reading of a suicide note, which has devastating consequences for Harry and Emma Clifton, Giles Barrington and Lady Virginia.

Giles must decide if he should withdraw from politics and try to rescue Karin, the woman he loves, from behind the Iron Curtain. But is Karin truly in love with him, or is she a spy?

Lady Virginia is facing bankruptcy, and can see no way out of her financial problems, until she is introduced to the hapless Cyrus T. Grant III from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who’s in England to see his horse run at Royal Ascot.

Sebastian Clifton is now the Chief Executive of Farthings Bank and a workaholic, whose personal life is thrown into disarray when he falls for Priya, a beautiful Indian girl. But her parents have already chosen the man she is going to marry. Meanwhile, Sebastian’s rivals Adrian Sloane and Desmond Mellor are still plotting to bring him and his chairman Hakim Bishara down, so they can take over Farthings.

Harry Clifton remains determined to get Anatoly Babakov released from a gulag in Siberia, following the international success of his acclaimed book, Uncle Joe. But then something unexpected happens that none of them could have anticipated.

Cometh the Hour is the penultimate book in the Clifton Chronicles and, like the five previous novels – which were all New York Times bestsellers – showcases Jeffrey Archer’s extraordinary storytelling with his trademark twists.

Next this week-

Proximity (iMe #1) by Jem Tugwell

iMe NOTICE – TO ALL NEW ADULTS
Your compulsory iMe implant will be performed by your fourteenth birthday when you become an adult.

Your iMe will track and save your location to keep you safe and remove crime.
It’s integrated health monitoring diagnoses issues early to provide you with the best possible care.
Combined with iMe’s tailored diet and fitness programs – you are always at your best.
Your consumption is optimal, your waste is negligible – better for you, better for the environment.

iMe – enabling a better you.

In the world of iMe, you can’t get away with anything. Least of all murder.
DI Clive Lussac has forgotten how to do his job. Ten years of embedded technology – ‘iMe’ – has led to complete control and the eradication of crime.

Then the impossible happens. A body is found, and the killer is untraceable.

With new partner Zoe Jordan, Clive must re-sharpen his detective skills and find the killer without technology, before time runs out for the next victim…

Isn’t that interesting? I’m on blog tour for the second book in this series and I received first book to catch up with it.

What did you read last week? What are you planning to read this week? Have you read any of these books or going to add to TBR?

Happy Reading

Sounds like a very nice week! Last week I finished Educated by Tara Westover. I only finish in average one book a week, so even though I love the idea of weekly wrap ups, it feels like I will not have much to write about 🙂 Love your weekly posts, though!

Archer’s writing and plot is always engaging and fast paced, there is no doubt there. This, Clifton Chronicles, is long 7 books series. I highly recommend this series. I bought whole series after reading Tell Tale- short stories collection. It was great. I definitely recommend that. It’s good to start with. you will get idea if you enjoy is writing or not. After this I’m getting Kane and Abel series – it’s trilogy and what I have heard from reviews it’s amazing.

Jem’s book sounded interesting. At the moment, I started 2 books but left them halfway as they made me sleep. Or maybe I am just drowsy.
Thinking of changing genre to read a women’s fiction to get me into mood
