Charlie Foxtrot Kilo Tango Yankee has departed Iceland after solving a mystery and has arrived to Ireland where young pilot Kitty is doing the embarrassing sumo wrestling at Wasabi Willy’s new restaurant that is funding Kitty’s trip. Here Kitty is offered to solve mystery of hundred years old treasure by Andrew Murdoch, a handsome stranger mentioned in original blurb. There’s some symbolic scribbles and new paper clipping that will lead to the location of that treasure. Andrew’s family is working on clues past 4 generation and figure out what was the treasure but couldn’t figure out where it is.

Kitty is very much dubious that she could do it as she was no mystery solver just pilot and whatever mystery she solved till now was because of trapping herself in such situations. To solve this mystery Kitty travels from Ireland to London. Will she able to solve the puzzle that lead to treasure? And what is that treasure?

I was wondering why the series was titled Flying Detective agency but hold the thoughts to myself as I knew there are more book in series that will tell me about it and here it was mentioned in this fourth installment.

Kitty Hawk and the Tragedy of the RMS Titanic, as title suggests, revolved around Titanic, on its history right from constriction to its tragedy and around Murdoch family as well as Ismay family who were surviving the controversies and taints on their family name since the Titanic Tragedy. Book was about treasure hunt, adventure and so damn good and large amount of interesting facts and stories.

Characters_edited

Kitty- protagonist who narrated the story so interestingly was pretty genius and smart in the book. But she was taking too much risk this time. She involved herself in questionable actions, I must say she scared me little because of that but thank God she got lucky. This little action might change the thoughts of readers, but at the end I like her.

Andrew- he was a handsome guy, trying to solve mystery from the clue his family received many years ago. He was good overall but I didn’t like him for dragging Kitty into danger. He was spoiling our young pilot but looking at the action of Kitty, I guess I’ll forgive him.

I loved little sweet moments between these two. They were cute in between all the tensed unsure moments.

What I liked_edited

Sumo wrestling was quite different start from all previous book in which Kitty was traveling from one place to another with stops in between and exploring them and telling her experience about the places. In this, book started directly with Ireland, no in between stops, and the mystery waiting to solve. It started with fast pace and stayed that way till the end.

There were pretty good to know info about titanic that along with Kitty I even didn’t know. It took me very deep into the story with all vivid and accurate details, right from Titanic’s construction at Belfast and it’s museum, premonition stories from survivors, the reason why Titanic sank, act of Californian and Carpathia and to the both British and American held commissions of inquiry on Titanic’s tragedy. It was such jaw- dropping that for few minutes I closed the book and thought about all the things I came to know about Titanic.

If you ever wish to read about Titanic, I suggest to read this book and there is also recommendation by the author that you can get to know more about Titanic and stories around it. Another remarkable thing that I loved in the book was pictures and maps of clues as well as related to things Kitty learned during her adventure. It made it very easy to go along with the story.

“I’ve chased my share of so-called treasures, and I’ve realized that the real treasure in life are the moments like tonight and all adventures that brought us here. Those are the things that make life unusual and special.”

Oh and then London… I got such an exciting tour in London with Kitty- Shakespeare’s globe theater, Abbey Road Crosswalk, London museum, Rosetta Stone and complex Hieroglyphics, oooh and Jack the Ripper tour- pretty cool to know about all of this right? Both characters Katherine and Richard gave such amazing tour to London. The Jack the Ripper tour was so informative with all chilling murders. I didn’t knew about the fact behind ‘Jack Ripper’ name. (Or maybe I read it somewhere and forgot but whatever it was awesome) And the events after that Oh My God! It turned from creepy info to frightened for life to totally funny. This was the best scene in the whole book.

The excitement throughout the book of solving mystery, being chased, running for life was so infectious that I can’t help but get thrilled by reading all those scene. I must say with the travel and info of places, the mystery of this book was so much better than all previous books. This was the best work by author in this series till now and I can see the improvement in everything.

Twist and turns were so interesting in this book that I didn’t want to stop reading the book. Climax was unpredictable and the end was so damn awesome. Such a great surprise it was!

why not 5 stars_edited

One small two small things, Kitty’s actions, it might encourage young readers in wrong way but she was guilty for that so I didn’t mind it and hey it’s just story so I’m not pushing on this matter. And another was I was missing Ismay’s reaction or thought at the end or in epilogue. What he did or thought about Andrew’s act at the end?

Overall, it was gripping and thrilling adventure of Kitty in Ireland and London with exciting treasure hunt mystery to solve. I highly recommend this book to all who love puzzles, treasure hunt and history as well as to gain the knowledge of places would love this book.
