Monthly Wrap-Up: November 2017
Hello Everyone!
Ahh! November has ended already and again I’m 2 books behind!! I had very stressful month because of personal reasons that affected reading and blog as well. Hopefully December will be better with life and blog. We decided a week ago to go back to my hometown for few weeks because of my health issues, so I took flight this morning with few books and laptop, and arrived at my mom’s place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and I’m going to spend whole December with my parents.
I hope you all had cheerful November and wish you a fabulous December! 🙂
November in reading was like this-
Book I read and reviewed-
Fantasy:
The King’s Peace by Kevin Hammond
Stars: 4/5
Dark fantasy. First book in Series of The Dark and the White series. This was actually good one, I can’t believe it has only handful of reviews on Goodreads. Only beginning was slow but the rest of the book was creative and gripping.
The Razvak Hunter (Razvak Series #1) by Arel B. Grant
Stars: 5/5
Elfish dark fantasy. Loved world building and great twist and turns specially from climax to end.
Romance:
Paranormal / Romance-
Sleuthing with the Enemy (Unnatural Alliances #2) by Danielle Hardgrave
Stars: 3.5/5
This book was interesting, sexy and super fast paced. Cover, Heroine and the Mystery of finding thief cut most of stars.
Contemporary / Romance-
Jilted (Discovered by Love #1) by Carla Laureano
Stars: 5/5
Novella. cozy and perfect for beach read. Well written, well developed characters, perfect pace, clean romance and lovely story.
Historical Fiction / Romance-
A Pearl for My Mistress by Annabel Fielding
Stars: 4/5
Historical and political romance. Book was different and interesting right from writing to concept.
Fiction / Women Fiction / Romance-
31 Miles: Can we ever win against ourselves? by Vinita Bakshi
Stars: 4.5/5
Loved story of Mansa, a happily married woman who actually started living a life in middle age. Brilliantly written with depth of emotion and well described characters.
And a Sixpence for Luck by Lilac Mills #BlogTour #Review #Giveaway @LilacMills @NeverlandBT

Holiday themed, funny and refreshing book with sweet feel good touch. I simply loved this book. This was kind of book you can go blindly and never regret for picking.
Mystery / Thriller:
Loose Cannon by Jack Steele (A Detective Joe Stone Novel Book 1)

My goodness! You read quite a few books. And I love your calendar! It’s so… clean. Hee hee! I know that sounds weird, but seeing a schedule that is devoted to just blogging is amazing to me. Is it perhaps part of a bujo (bullet journal) or is it just a calendar? 🙂

Thank you, Melanie! I can’t read more than 8 books a month, if reading month is good without any interruptions I can manage 10.
It’s just calendar but when I will have enough sheets, I’ll bind them making it journal of blog. That’s what I have thought for now. ☺️

8 books is an average month?! I’m… just gonna curl up in a corner of shame now. Hahaha! I’m lucky if I finish 3 books a month and ten is more than even my best months. :p That’s so crazy that you can read so much! 😀
Oh! That’ll be nice. I bought a nice planner thinking I’d use it for blogging and then it became such a hassle filling it out that it’s mostly empty now. *sigh* Kind of sad, but I have to be very choosey with my time and it’s really big so carrying it around with me was difficult. Still love your calendar! I couldn’t decorate mine if I tried. Hee hee!

Oh don’t worry, I started with 3 books a month only. It took 2 years to reach to this speed, 8 books!😅 Plus I left job last year, nothing to do much. 🤐
I use calendar as planner too. I fill it with pencil to keep track of blitz and tours and once post is up I try to decorate it, though it always look bad to me.

BAHAHAHAHA! Two years later and I’m still only reading 3 books a month. :p Though, I am in school full time and often bring home studying, papers, and goodness knows what else. So, that cuts into my reading time like crazy. (and sometimes I prefer tv to books. Less to do. :p )
Nooo! I think your calendar looks great. It’s very colorful, which makes it very easy to follow. 😀 My calendar was awful. I didn’t decorate or color or anything. It was very difficult to follow. Hee hee!

You should feel good then! I envy those who could find reading time along with work and TV. Really! I also give more time to TV, it’s hard to let go awesome movies. 😁
Thank you! ❤️ Ah, at least you made it. It doesn’t matter how it looks at the end. Credit goes to efforts you put. 😉

Hahaha! Yes, that is very true, but I haven’t used my calendar in some time. I feel like I’m so busy that I don’t have time to use my Calendar. Hahaha!
Right?! Movies are awesome! I have more movies than I do books. (Shh! Don’t tell the book blogger police :p )

Same here. In October I watched around 9 movies. Number of movies are always greater than books every month. So Zippp! 🤐 Partners in crime 😉
Melanie Noell Bernard
Hee hee! I don’t actually watch that many movies, to be honest… I wish I did, but I enjoy watching them with people and… my friends all live at least 1.5 hours away. 😦 Why do I make so many internet friends? *sigh*

I’m alone at home most of the time so can’t help but watch them alone. 😥
Melanie Noell Bernard
Yeah, same. :/ I don’t think my dog is usually watching them with me. ;p

Wow, you did wonderful, Yesha! It must have been an amazing month for you! Let’s hope December turns out to be as productive as November 🙂
